Delhi: NDMC kicks off annual tulip plantation drive

According to officials, NDMC has procured 517,000 tulip bulbs this season, of which 325,000 bulbs will be planted across prominent public spaces in the NDMC area.

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) launched its annual tulip plantation drive on Saturday, said officials, adding that NDMC vice chairperson Kuljeet Singh Chahal planted the first bulb at Children Park.

According to officials, NDMC has procured 517,000 tulip bulbs this season, of which 325,000 bulbs will be planted across prominent public spaces in the NDMC area, including Shanti Path, Central Park in Connaught Place, Lodhi Garden, Talkatora Garden, Mandi House, among others.

Around 100,000 bulbs will be planted in pots and made available for public purchase, while 15,000 bulbs preserved from last year will be replanted at the Tulip House in Lodhi Garden, said officials, adding that Tulips are expected to bloom from February for nearly 25 days.
