The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by environment minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa in June. Officials said the aim is to improve the ease of doing business and ensure industries adhere to environmental regulations.
Facilitation camps will be organised across Delhi’s 13 revenue districts. The Vyapar Mitras, stationed at the offices of the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) and district magistrates, will guide industries, traders and entrepreneurs through government procedures, assist them in obtaining mandatory environmental clearances and help resolve operational issues.
The government will also provide industries with a three-month window to obtain pending environmental clearances and rectify compliance-related issues. After the deadline, authorities will take action against units found violating environmental norms, officials added.
The initiative seeks to strike a balance between facilitating business operations and strengthening pollution control enforcement. By providing on-ground assistance through dedicated officers and district-level camps, the government aims to reduce procedural delays, improve compliance and encourage industries to meet regulatory requirements without disrupting operations, officials added.
