A 26-year-old man was found murdered with his throat slit at his friend’s house in Sector 13’s Rajiv Nagar (east) on Thursday, police said.

Police said the man worked as a private security guard and lived in the same locality as his friend.

Police identified the victim as Sujeet Kumar Kharwar, a native of Hariharpur in Jaunpur district of Uttar Pradesh. He worked as a private security guard and lived in the same locality as his friend, police said.

Police said Kharwar’s two friends, who lived in the house from which the body was recovered, were on the run at present.

A senior police officer said the owner of the building found the flat’s door slightly open.

“When he went inside, he saw Kharwar’s body on the bed. He alerted the police control room,” he said.

Investigators said that senior police officers, including deputy commissioner of police (DCP) (west) Karan Goel, reached the spot soon after receiving information about the murder.

According to police, there was a deep cut mark on his neck. Two blood-stained knives along with five liquor bottles were also recovered from the spot.

Sandeep Turan, public relations officer of Gurugram police, said that during the investigation, it was found that Kharwar had reached the duo’s apartment at night. “He was last seen between 10.30 pm and 11 pm on Wednesday when he had gone to a shop in front of the house,” he said, adding that teams have been formed to arrest them.

“His family has been alerted, following which a murder case will be registered at Sector 14 police station,” he added.
