The monsoon session of the Delhi legislative assembly will be held from August 7 to August 11, chief minister Rekha Gupta announced on Tuesday after the decision was approved during a cabinet meeting.

Gupta said the five-day session would focus on discussions on key issues concerning the capital’s development and public welfare. She said the government would utilise the session to deliberate on matters of public importance and take decisions aimed at improving governance and service delivery for the people of Delhi.
Gupta added that her government remained committed to placing public interest above all other considerations while formulating and implementing policies.
She said meaningful discussions would be held on issues affecting Delhi and reiterated that the government would continue to take decisions necessary for the city’s development and the welfare of its residents.
Officials aware of the development said that the government is finalising its legislative and policy agenda for the session, with discussions expected on key governance issues and pending bills.
The business advisory committee is likely to determine the duration of the session and the legislative calendar closer to its commencement, officials said.
