Three men arrested for trafficking 22.4kg contraband

Three people were arrested near Madanpur Khadar in southeast Delhi on Thursday for allegedly trafficking ganja. At least 22.4kg of ganja, which the suspects brought from Odisha, has been recovered from them, police said.
The suspects were arrested based on a tip-off to the anti-narcotics team.
Esha Pandey, deputy commissioner of police (southeast), said, “Acting on a tip-off, the anti-narcotics team laid a trap near Indane Gas plant, Agra Canal Road in Madanpur Khadar village. The team spotted a person who was carrying two bags. When they checked the bags, they found 22.4kg ganja. He was later identified as Veer Singh (43) of Bharatpur, Rajasthan. His associates, Rajendra alias Rajesh (42) and Rajkumar alias Baba (38) have also been arrested from Bhim Basti in south Delhi.”

A case under sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985 has been registered against the three suspects at Kalinidi Kunj police station.
