Ever since the university announced its plan to conduct online entrance tests for PG courses this year, some teachers and students have been protesting the move.

Officials said students have been raising objections on the ground that aspirants from all streams are may not be well acquainted with computers. It may also put students from backward regions at a disadvantage.

Now the university plans to take a middle route by allowing written entrance tests for language courses such as English, Persian and Sanskrit.

“There have been protests as students are saying many applicants will find it difficult to give an online test. So, we are planning to allow a written test for some courses such as languages. But rest all courses will have an online entrance test,” said a member of the admission committee.

The online registration for PG admissions will begin from May 31. The last date for filling applications and the entrance dates are yet to be announced.
