The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) on Wednesday said they will take up connection work of a 700mm pipeline on March 27 (Monday) due to which water supply will remain shut in a few city areas for 30 hours.

The authority issued a notice on Wednesday, stating that it will shut a 1,600mm water supply pipeline at the Sector 16 pumping station from 9am on March 27 till 3.30pm on March 28 for connecting the 700mm pipeline from MDI Chowk to Iffco Chowk.
Water supply will remain affected in sectors 16,17,18,19,20, 27, 28, 29, 43, DLF I, II and IV, Sushant Lok I and II, South City 1, Udyog Vihar 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, MG Road, Surya Vihar, Sirhaul, Saini Khera and adjoining areas, the authority said.
“This is to inform that the connection work of a newly laid 700mm pipeline from MDI Chowk to Iffco Chowk is scheduled from 9am on March 27 and water supply will remain shut for 30 hours. All residents are requested and advised to use water judiciously to avoid completely dry conditions,” said the GMDA notice.
A GMDA spokesperson said that a new pipeline has been laid to augment the water supply in these areas. “These are large pipes and will require time to connect with the network. The water supply will be shut for around 30 hours and we request residents of these areas to store water for the two days,” he said.
