American investment likely in UP through Global Investors Summit

LUCKNOW Top American companies are likely to invest in various sectors of Uttar Pradesh through the Global Investors Summit-2013 scheduled to be held early next year. Invitations for the event have been sent to a large number of US companies, said the state government on Saturday.

These companies have shown interest in several sectors, including IT and electronics, agriculture and food processing, defence and aerospace, pharmaceutical and medical devices, energy, retail and automobiles, it said.

The UP government has established contact with several IT companies of the US, including Apple, Microsoft Corporation, Alphabet (Google), Amazon, Meta, Visa, Intel, Cisco, Oracle and Adobe. A team of officers has been constituted to bring in investment from American companies.

This team comprises two officers above the level of secretary, two officers from IT, electronics and health department, one from the planning department and one officer from the industries department.

Besides, one officer from the CM’s office and three from Invest UP have been asked to work in mission mode to finalise deals with American companies. Invest UP, a state government department, is the nodal agency for organising GIS-2023.

In the aerospace and defence sector, the state government is in contact with Boeing Company, an American multinational corporation that designs, manufactures and sells aircraft.

Other companies in this sector in touch with the UP government are BAE Systems, Safran SA, Raytheon, Northrop Grumman, GE Aviation, General Dynamics Corporation, Lockheed Martin Corporation, United Technology Corporation (UTC) and Airbus SE.
