LDA to demolish illegal structures, 10 in first phase
Across Lucknow, the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is preparing to demolish ten illegal structures against which demolition orders have been issued.
The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is all set to demolish 10 illegal structures across the city against which demolition orders have been issued.

These buildings are in Hazratganj, Hussainganj, Naka, Kaiserbagh, Aminabad and Waziganj areas.
According to LDA officials, several illegal buildings have been identified for demolition.
“In the first phase, 10 illegal buildings will be demolished. The development authority has already issued demolition orders against these buildings,” said Rajeev Kumar, officer on special duty (enforcement), LDA.
According to LDA officials, notices have already been issued to owners of these 10 illegal buildings and court proceedings have also been completed.
“Now assembly elections are over and the development authority is planning to demolish 10 illegal buildings in the first phase,” said a senior LDA official.
LDA vice chairman Akshay Tripathi has instructed officials to demolish all illegal structures against which demolition orders have been issued and no legal issue is pending.
The LDA has divided the city into seven zones and each zone has an officer in charge to take action against illegal constructions.
Tripathi has also sought a detailed list of illegal constructions from all engineers.
While reviewing legal cases related to illegal constructions, Tripathi directed officials to expedite all such cases that are pending for more than a year.
“For completely demolishing an illegal building, we need support of the government and district administration. Without their support an illegal building cannot be demolished,” said an LDA official.
Be it illegal constructions of former minister in the Samajwadi Party government Gayatri Prajapati or Sharda Pratap Shukla -- all were demolished only after orders of the state government.
