Agra A resident of Agra tested positive for Covid on Tuesday evening after returning from the US on December 30. The sample has been sent for genome sequencing to King George’s Medical University, Lucknow.

The latest case is of a 34-year-old local who recently returned from the US, where he had gone for studies. He suffered from a sore throat and got himself tested in a private lab where he was found Covid positive.
“The man is in home isolation. The Rapid Response Team (RRT) is keeping a watch and necessary steps have been taken. The sample has been sent to KGMU at Lucknow for genome sequencing,” informed chief medical officer (CMO) of Agra Dr AK Srivastava.
Those feared to have come in contact of with the man are also being asked to undergo the test.
This is third case in Agra to have tested Covid positive. The first case was of a man who had returned from China on December 25. . Later an Argentinian tourist, aged 40, was tested for Covid on December 26 when he was at the Taj Mahal. His report was found positive on December 28 but he had left Agra by then and remains untraceable since then, with contacts given by him found to be wrong.
