Within hours, the Purvanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (PVVNL) suspended sub-divisional officer (SDO) Prakash Singh and junior engineer OP Kushwaha. Executive engineer Bhuvan Raj Singh was served a charge sheet, and superintendent engineer Sanjeev Vaishya was asked to provide an explanation.
The minister was addressing a public gathering at Hanuman Ghat Mohalla, Harikeshpura, in Mau as per the scheduled programme. However, during his speech, electricity supply was abruptly disrupted. Realising the blunder, officials acted swiftly to restore power.
Following this lapse, PVVNL management ordered disciplinary action in the evening, resulting in the suspensions and explanations sought from senior officials.
