Varanasi students win school-level GIS quiz

The quiz was organised to test the youth’s knowledge about business and corporate world besides current events and general awareness before the GIS.

Students from Sunbeam English School, Lehartara, Varanasi, won the school-level Global Investors’ Summit (GIS) business quiz held during the two-day competition organised by ‘Invest UP’ which concluded at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan here on Sunday.

The quiz was organised to test the youth’s knowledge about business and corporate world besides current events and general awareness before the GIS. The team of Shashwat and Aaditya won the first prize. Snehit Singh and Vivek Patel, students from Sunbeam English School, Bhagwanpur, Varanasi, stood second while Aditya Kumar Gaurav, a class 11 student from Sant Atulanand Convent School, Varanasi, won third prize.

Pritam Upadhyay and Piyush Kedia answered maximum questions to win India quiz open session event. Both sessions on the second day saw a good display of knowledge, skill and reasoning ability. Total 368 teams participated in the India Quiz (School Level). Quiz master Kushan Patel hosted the show. He asked interesting questions to the participating teams as per the format of the competition.

There were eight teams in the final round. The team of Sunbeam English School, Lahartara, Varanasi, which stood first, was given a prize of 50,000, while the team which won the second place was given 30,000 and the team that bagged the third prize got

20,000.

Everyone showed intellectual prowess in the India Open Quiz. People of all age groups could participate in the India Open Quiz (open session). After a preliminary round of over 250 participants, teams were selected for the semifinal stage and then 8 teams were selected for the final round. Most of the questions in the competition were related to general knowledge.

In the final round, the team of Pritam Upadhyay and Piyush Kedia won the first position by giving the most correct answers and received a prize of 80,000. Pritam is working in Barclays Company in Chennai while Piyush is working in MX Player in Mumbai.

Chandigarh’s Ayush Awasthi and Mumbai’s Shantanu Sharma’s team, which stood second in the competition, got a prize of 45,000. Ayush is working in Ernst & Young while Shantanu is in Avid Learning. The team of Prateek Vijayvargiya and Shashank Tyagi, which stood third, got a prize of 25,000. Prateek is doing research in JNU Delhi and Shashank is in a central government job.
