Man booked for raping, impregnating 14-year-old neighbour in Ludhiana
The family found out that the girl was eight months pregnant when they took her to a hospital for treatment of an enlarged stomach
A labourer was booked for allegedly raping and his ailing neighbour’s 14-year-old daughter for seven days.
The accused, Suresh Kumar, had been looking after the victim when he raped her.
The victim’s mother said she had been admitted to a hospital in April and her husband had stayed with her. As there was no one at home to take care of their daughter and five-year-old son, they had asked Suresh to do so.
The family found out that the girl was eight months pregnant when they took her to a hospital for treatment of an enlarged stomach. On being asked, the girl said that the accused had raped her in her parents’ absence. He had threatened to kill her and her brother if she told anyone about it. Later, the family lodged an FIR against the accused.
Sub-inspector Jagdeep Singh, who is investigating the case, said that an FIR under Sections 376 and 506 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act has been lodged against the accused. A hunt is on to arrest him.
