Man held hostage, robbed and left in Greater Noida

Three persons held a man at gunpoint and snatched his Hyundai i10 car and other valuables on Monday evening in Greater Noida. The victim, identified as Pankaj Kumar Mishra, is a resident of Sector Omicron 1 in Greater Noida.
Mishra said that on Monday he had left his home in a car around 7.45pm. “I went to a local salon and parked my car outside,” he said. Mishra said that when he returned to his car, he found the three suspects at the spot.
“The men overpowered me at gunpoint and forced me inside the car. One of them drove the vehicle. On the way, they snatched my phone, purse, debit card, and some documents and left me on the roadside in the Ecotech area,” he said.
Mishra informed the police with the help of some passersby. Sujeet Upadhyaya, station house officer, Sector Beta 2 police station, said a case has been registered under Section 342 (wrongful consignment) and Section 392 (robbery) of the Indian Penal Code. “A police team reached the spot but the men escaped. We are scanning footage of CCTV cameras in the area to arrest the suspects,” he said.
Meanwhile, in another case, two motorcycle-borne men snatched a gold chain from a 37-year-old resident of Pancheel Greens 2 in Greater Noida (West) on Tuesday. He was walking back to the society he resides in with his daughter from a local market in Bisrakh. The victim, identified as Ajay Tiwari, said that he had gone to buy milk from a local kiosk. He works at a private tech firm in Noida.
He alleged that two masked men intercepted him and asked him to hand over him cash and valuables at gunpoint. “They snatched the gold chain since I had no phone and wallet at that time,” he told the police.
Manoj Kumar Pathak, station house officer, Bisrakh police station, said a case of robbery has been registered against the unknown suspects.
