The metropolitan magistrate court in Borivali is scheduled to hear the plea on December 23.

Darekar has also claimed that it was Priyangi Singh, 23, who refused to see a doctor when his mother Radhika asked her. On Priyangi’s insistence, Radhika took his girlfriend to her home, the plea, which was filed on Monday, said.

As per the application, Priyangi said she had consumed alcohol and did not want to go to a hospital. Radhika applied a medicated cream on her wounds before booking a cab and dropping Priyangi at her home at 6.15 am on November 13 while her parents were out on their morning walk.

Darekar is accused of pushing Priyangi from the overhead water tank on the terrace of their friend’s building in Dahisar on November 12. The complaint filed by Priyangi’s father Munish Shreekant Singh said Darekar had physically abused his daughter a few times before and he attempted to kill her on that day after a fight on the terrace of La Belleza.

Darekar was booked under section 307 (attempted murder) of the Indian Penal Code and was arrested on November 17. He is presently lodged in Thane jail.

Munish said that on the day of the incident, his daughter left her office at 4,30 pm after she received a call from someone. “The BPO management said they had never fired Priyangi. When I saw her, her T-shirt was drenched and she was bleeding,” he said.

Since the incident, Munish has been by his daughter’s bedside at the hospital. “The doctors have told me that the condition Priyangi is in cannot be caused by just a fall.”
