Stalker kept a watch on Vicky-Katrina’s house, followed their car: Police
The police informed a metropolitan magistrate court at Bandra that the 28-year-old aspiring actor had been keeping a watch on the building and area where Kaif stayed after marrying Kaushal.
Mumbai: Preliminary probe has revealed that 28-year-old Manvinder Vinvasani Singh, arrested for giving death threats to actor Vicky Kaushal and stalking his wife actor Katrina Kaif, was lurking around the couple’s residence and also following their car.

The police on Tuesday informed a metropolitan magistrate court at Bandra that the 28-year-old aspiring actor had been keeping a watch on the building and area where Kaif stayed after marrying Kaushal. Singh had also followed the couple’s car on several occasions and had uploaded the videos on his Instagram account @kingadityarajput, the court was told.
On scanning through Singh’s Instagram page, the police found that he had also morphed and merged his photos with Kaif and posted them on his account. In the caption, he referred to the actor as his girlfriend and wife.
The investigating officer from Santacruz police said that Singh, the son of a doctor from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, had on June 13 uploaded a video message on Instagram threatening Kaushal and also sent messages on Kaif’s WhatsApp claiming that he knew where Kaushal was hiding and would keep him of gunpoint.
“Singh had been harassing the couple since March 2021 and had sent abusive and threatening messages to the couple several times using various social media tools and also through voice messages and calls,” said a police officer from Santacruz police station.
The officers sought police custody of Singh on the grounds that they now wanted to investigate and find out whether Singh had threatened or stalked any other actor also in the past as there was a morphed photo of Singh with another famous actress on his Instagram.
The police also want to find out what was his motive behind stalking Kaif. “We will also find out how many times and since when had Singh followed Kaif and stalked her,” said the officer.
The magistrate court remanded Singh to police custody for three days even as Singh’s lawyer argued that the 28-year-old knew Kaif since 2019 and the photos uploaded by him on his Instagram account were not morphed and claimed that the allegations levelled by the police were baseless.
The police arrested Singh on Monday afternoon from his hotel in Andheri east where he had been staying for over 7 months. The police have registered an FIR based on a complaint lodged by Kaushal and booked Singh under sections 354 (d) and 506 (2) of the Indian Penal Code and section 67 of the Information Technology Act, 2000.
