Fire breaks out in Agra hospital, no casualties reported
Many senior officers including the District Magistrate reached the spot to inspect the damage to the hospital and safety of the patients.
A fire broke out in an eight-storey building of SN Medical College in Agra on Tuesday afternoon, news agency ANI reported.

Dr Arun Srivastava, Agra chief medical officer said that the fire started from the garbage in the hospital basement after which, smoke reached the fifth and sixth floor of the eight-storey building. A stampede-like situation followed as patients, visitors and hospital staff rushed to exit the building. There were about 30 to 35 patients on the sixth floor.
Luckily, no casualties were reported and the situation is now under control as per authorities. All the patients have been safely evacuated from the hospital and shifted to another hospital through ambulance.
According to media reports, as soon as the fire broke, the attendants started running out of the ward, evacuating the patients. When the stretcher was not found, they carried patients out of the building. About 210 patients have been shifted from the medical college to a Covid hospital as emergency services doused the fire.
