Greater Noida: A three-day India Bio Energy and Tech (IBET) Expo 2026 being organised at the India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida, has drawn over 150 exhibitors and thousands of visitors, said officials.

On Thursday, the second day, A K Sharma, state minister for energy and additional sources of energy; Surya Pratap Shahi, state minister for agriculture; and Kailash Singh Rajput, minister of state for energy and additional sources of energy attended the event.

Addressing the gathering, Sharma said, Uttar Pradesh generates around 60 million tonnes of agricultural waste and around 15,000 tonnes of urban waste every day.

“Compressed biogas (CBG) has immense potential to bring prosperity to farmers. Through this sector, farmers’ incomes can be increased by transforming waste into wealth, while employment opportunities can be provided to villagers within their own villages,” Sharma added.

Agriculture minister Surya Pratap Shahi said, “Through innovation, this waste can be converted into energy. We assure all entrepreneurs of full support. With collective efforts, we can meet our energy needs through green energy.”

Several research journals and agricultural publications were also released during the event. Delegates, subject experts, and entrepreneurs from India and abroad discussed bioenergy, CBG, the utilisation of agricultural waste, rural employment, and green energy, the organisers said.

The expo is organised by the Indian Federation of Green Energy (IFGE) and the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA).
