Three men arrested for kidnapping man after dog abduction failed
Police said Rahul often takes care of the dogs at his home. Vishal Kumar, who knew this fact, decided to abduct the Dogo Argentino, an exotic breed, with his acquaintances Lalit and Monty and sell the dog for a profit
Gautam Budh Nagar Police have arrested three people for allegedly abducting a man after he foiled their attempt to kidnap his brother’s dog on December 14. Police said they arrested two of the suspects, identified as Lalit and Monty (both go by their first names) on December 17 and the third suspect Vishal Kumar on December 19.

Police said that Kumar is an acquaintance of Rahul Singh (30), a resident of Alpha-2, Greater Noida, whose brother Shubham Pratap Singh (26), resident of Unitech Horizon in Greater Noida, owns two dogs, a Rottweiler and Dogo Argentino. Police said Rahul often takes care of the dogs at his home. Kumar, who knew this fact, decided to abduct the Dogo Argentino, an exotic breed, with his acquaintances Lalit and Monty and sell the dog for a profit.
On December 14, the three ostensibly came to meet Rahul at his home.
“Vishal tried to forcibly take the dog with him, but Rahul intervened after which the three men abducted my brother in their car, while the dog was left behind. They later called me and asked me to bring them the dog if I want my brother back,” Shubham said.
Shubham immediately informed the police after which teams were deployed to search for the suspects, said Anjani Kumar Singh, station house officer of Beta-2 police station.
“An FIR was registered under Section 364 (kidnapping) of the Indian Penal Code. On December 15, the suspects released Rahul when they found out the police was making inquiries. Lalit and Monty were arrested from Beta-2, Greater Noida on December 17 while Kumar was arrested on December 19 from Alpha-2. All the suspects have been produced before the court and sent to judicial custody,” said the officer.
Meanwhile, Shubham said that he is still afraid of losing his pet dog. “I am worried about taking my dog out for a walk and am concerned for my own safety following the incident. My brother Rahul is also traumatised after the abduction,” Shubham said.
