“We inspected the site last week where the skywalk will be built to connect these two crucial metro links. We have a deadline of 9-12 months to complete the project and open it to the public,” said Prabhas Kumar, additional chief executive officer, Noida authority.
The project was approved in March 2022 at a cost of ₹35 crore.
“Once this project is built, metro commuters will not have to exit a station, as we will connect the two lines seamlessly through corridors equipped with escalators and air-conditioners,” said Kumar.
Commuters have been demanding smooth connectivity between the two lines for years now. “During this scorching heat, walking to change the Metro line is troublesome. The authority must build this project at the earliest. Seamless connectivity between the Aqua and Blue Lines will offer much needed relief,” said Kabir Raj, a commuter and resident of sector 118.
