UP records highest spike
Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday registered a record 17,963 new cases and 85 deaths in a single day, according to the HT dashboard. The state has, so far, seen 723,582 cases and 9,309 deaths.
The record spike comes on the day the Allahabad high court directed the state government to look into the viability of a two-three week complete lockdown in worst-affected districts, and restrict public gatherings to 50 people.
