Speaking on the incident, additional DCP (east) Manish Sonkar said, “Sadiq was rushed to the Lala Lajpat Rai (LLR) hospital where the doctors declared him dead.” The cop added that the accused, identified as Ramji Gupta, has been arrested and booked for culpable homicide (not amounting to murder). Gupta allegedly opened fire from his licensed double-barrel gun during the wedding. The bullet accidentally hit Sadiq.
