Krishna Janmabhoomi Issue: Revision plea admitted in ADJ court, to be heard on August 11
Because of the revision plea filed and admitted on Monday, the day-to-day hearing in the court of civil judge (senior division) Mathura could not take place.
A revision plea filed by the petitioners challenging the July 21 order of the civil court in the issue of Sri Krishna Janambhoomi was admitted by the court of additional district judge (Court No. 07) in Mathura on Monday. The court fixed August 11 as the next date of hearing.

Because of the revision plea filed and admitted on Monday, the day-to-day hearing in the court of civil judge (senior division) Mathura could not take place.
On July 21, the court of civil judge (senior division) Mathura decided that the application moved by the Shahi Eidgah Mosque management committee challenging the maintainability of the case would be heard first.
The petitioners in the revision plea have challenged the lower court’s order.
“In our case no 950 of 2020 Bhagwan Sri Krishan Virajman and others versus Management Committee Shahi Eidgah Mosque and others, we had moved an application in May seeking a survey of Shahi Eidgah Mosque ahead of disposal of the application filed by respondents challenging the maintainability of the case,” stated Rajendra Maheshwari, the petitioner and lawyer in the case.
“The court of civil judge (senior division) Mathura on July 21, 2022, decided that the application moved by Shahi Eidgah Mosque challenging the maintainability of the case will be heard first, and thus we preferred filing a revision plea against the order,” informed Maheshwari.
“We pressed the urgency to have a survey of Shahi Eidgah Mosque ahead of disposal of application on maintainability of the case moved by the Mosque management committee and challenged the order of the lower court,” stated Maheshwari.
“The court of ADJ Mathura admitted the revision plea and fixed August 11 as the next date of hearing. Meanwhile, the record for the case in the court of civil judge (senior division) Mathura has been called in the court of ADJ,” Maheshwari added.
The court of ADJ has also asked the petitioners to take steps within five days to serve notices to all the respondents in the case.
Tanveer Ahmed, the secretary and counsel for the Shahi Eidgah Mosque management committee, said the petitioners appearing for the deity are adopting delaying tactics.
“Despite the court of civil judge (senior division) Mathura ordering for day-to-day hearing from Monday onwards, the petitioners moved adjournment today on the pretext of some revision plea filed against the July 21 order,” Ahmed said.
“The court of civil judge (senior division) Mathura had made it clear in its order dated July 21, 2022, that no adjournments would be moved in day-to-day hearing, yet the petitioner’s moved adjournment on the very first day of hearing to delay the matter,” complained Ahmed.
Ahmed was of the view that since no stay had been granted by the revision court, the hearing would continue in the court of civil judge (senior division) Mathura.
At present, there are 12 cases related to Sri Krishna Janambhoomi and Shahi Eidgah Mosque filed in the Mathura court since September 2020.
Most of the petitioners in these cases have claimed that the Shahi Eidgah Masjid was constructed on a part of 13.37-acre land belonging to the Sri Krishna Janmabhoomi Trust.
