Ludhiana: 2 sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment in drug peddling case

A local court on Monday sentenced two persons, including a woman, to ten years’ imprisonment in a drug peddling case.
According to the prosecution, the case against drug peddlers was registered on May 12, 2019 at Government Railway Police (GRP) station, Ludhiana. Amar Singh, a resident of Chhattisgarh, and Phool Bhai of Madhya Pradesh have been sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment. (HT FILE PHOTO)
The court of additional sessions judge Harbans Singh Lekhi also imposed a fine of ₹1 lakh each on the two convicts Amar Singh, a resident of Chhattisgarh, and Phool Bhai of Madhya Pradesh.
According to the prosecution, the case was registered on May 12, 2019 at Government Railway Police (GRP) station, Ludhiana. The police was tipped off that the accused brought drugs from other states and supplied them in Ludhiana.
During checking at railway station, police searched both the accused and recovered two bags of drugs from their possession.
