Passing Out Parade: 1st batch of graduating Agniveers from Bareilly pledges to serve the country
Lt Gen BS Raju of the Jat Regiment, after reviewing the parade, addressed the fresh faces, encouraging the Agniveers to continue the already glorious history of the Jat Regiment.
LUCKNOW The passing out parade of the first batch of graduating Agniveers took place at Bakshi Parade Ground of the Jat Regimental Centre in Bareilly on Saturday.
As many as 164 Agniveers completed 31 weeks of training, culminating in this Passing Out Parade. Lt Gen BS Raju of the Jat Regiment, after reviewing the parade, addressed the fresh faces, encouraging the Agniveers to continue the already glorious history of the Jat Regiment.
“The experience you would get from this opportunity would be a source of pride throughout your life,” said Lt Gen BS Raju, adding that by being posted in different areas, Agniveers would get diverse experience and also get an opportunity to see and understand different languages and cultures.
“The Agniveer programme will provide disciplined and skilled youths with military ethos to the civil society. Those Agniveers who go back to the society from the Army will have many opportunities for re-employment. They will emerge as role models for the youth,” said the Lt Gen while addressing the press.
After the Agniveers took their final oath to officially be qualified to serve their country, the families of these 164 individuals were presented with a Gaurav Padak, an honorary pride medal given to family members of Army officials for allowing their children to risk their lives to serve the nation.
