Prayagraj: One more arrested for June 10 violence at Atala
Tauseef was not named in any of the FIRs but was identified through the posters of rioters issued by police post violence
The Kareli police on Sunday arrested another accused allegedly involved in violence and arson at Atala and adjoining areas on June 10. The total number of arrested persons in connection with the violence has now reached 105. The youth Mohd Tauseef, 22, was arrested after being identified through the video footage in which he could be seen with one Mohd Ekhlaq who was arrested earlier.
SHO of Kareli police station Arvind Gautam said Tauseef was not named in any of the FIRs but was identified through the posters of rioters issued by police post violence. He works as furniture painter and has changed his appearance slightly to avoid being identified, said police.
During questioning, Tauseef informed that Ekhlaq asked him to accompany him to Atala to join the protests. The duo was further motivated by one Hafiz who is still at large. Ekhlaq was produced before the court and was sent to jail, SHO added.
