Police teams reached Atiq’s demolished ancestral house in Chakia and made the announcement amidst beating of drums and pasted a copy of the notice under section 82 of CrPC at Atiq’s ancestral house.

Police got the notice issued by the court as Shaista Parveen is continuously evading arrest and has also failed to surrender before the court.

Officials said that a notice under section 82 has been issued against six accused. However, the announcement has only been made at Shaista Parveen’s home. Now, police will initiate attachment of property under section 83.

Shaista Parveen has been on the run ever since her name surfaced in Umesh Pal’s murder case. A reward of 50,000 has also been declared on her arrest. Police teams have carried out raids at several places in Prayagraj region and even in other states but have failed to arrest Shaista Parveen, Ashraf’s wife, Zainab, and Atiq’s sister, Ayesha Noori.

Atiq and his brother, Khalid Azeem aka Ashraf, were murdered on April 15. His son, Asad and henchmen, Ghulam, Arbaaz and Vijay Chaudhary have been killed in encounters with the police and STF teams.

Six accused in the case, including Shaista Parveen, Zainab, Ayesha Noori and assailants Guddu Muslim, Armaan and Sabir are on the run.

DCP City Deepak Bhukar said notice under section 82 has been put up at Shaista’s home while similar action is also being initiated against the other accused, he added.
