Two minor girls, one aged two-and-a-half years and the other five, were gang raped in separate incidents in Delhi on Friday.
The five-year-old was allegedly assaulted by two men known to her family in Anand Vihar area of East Delhi while the younger victim was allegedly abducted from near a ‘Ramlila’ event outside her home at Ranhola in West Delhi by two men on a motorcycle. She was gang-raped and dumped in the area with severe injuries.
In the East Delhi incident, the culprits were later nabbed by the locals and handed over to the police who arrested them and registered a case. But no arrests have been made in the other case.
Delhi Commission for Women, DCW, chief Swati Maliwal called the incidents shameful.
Last week, a four-year-old girl was brutally raped and left for dead “unconscious, naked and bleeding” on the tracks close to her house in the Keshav Puram area the national capital.
