Protest rally held in Mumbai over disappearance of JNU student Najeeb
Students from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT-B), Nirmala Niketan, Siddharth College, Sophia College, and various colleges of Mumbai university
Students from various universities on Thursday staged a protest here and submitted a memorandum to the Mumbai University vice-chancellor Sanjay Deshmukh, demanding justice for the missing JNU student Najeeb Ahmed.
The protest march ‘Chalo Mumbai University’, was organised by the Joint Action Committee for Social Justice, from Piperoad Masjid to Kalina campus of Mumbai university.
The committee is a joint front of various Ambedkarite, Muslim and Left student organisations, democratic and progressive social, and political organisations.
Students from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT-B), Nirmala Niketan, Siddharth College, Sophia College, and various colleges of Mumbai university participated in the protest.
Members of student groups, including Student Islamic Organisation, Samyak Vidyarthi Andolan, Samata Vidyarthi Aghadi, Radical Study Circle (TISS) and Ambedkar Periyar Phule Study Circle (IIT-B), Vidyarthi Bharati, All India Revolutionary Student Organisation also participated in the march.
Students of various universities and groups and former MP Prakash Ambedkar addressed the rally.
