As per the affidavit submitted to the Election Commission of India, Rasne’s total worth is 10.51 crore and Dhangekar’s 7.20 crore. Interestingly, as per their Income Tax returns, both the candidate’s income came down due to Covid-19 pandemic which was reflected in the IT returns.

Both Rasane and Dhangekar are Ganesh Mandal workers and have a good mass base in Kasba Peth constituency where bypolls are scheduled on February 26.

As both are from the central part of the city, the market value of the properties is high.

Both Rasne and Dhangekar’s profession is agriculture and real estate. Dhangekar’s education qualification is till Class 8 and Rasane has studied till Class 12.

Both the candidates own agriculture as well non-agriculture lands in Pune are rural areas. Both have served as corporators in Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) for three terms.

Once dominated by Brahmin community, the constituency has witnessed a massive demographic change in the last few years. Both Congress and BJP have given a non-Brahmin face.
