BJP cancels celebrations following Nasarapur rape-murder case
BJP cancels victory celebrations in West Bengal due to the Nasarapur minor rape case, opting for discussions instead. NCP also refrains from celebrating.
Despite the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) landslide victory in West Bengal, the city unit cancelled celebrations on the background of Nasarapur minor rape case.

Dheeraj Ghare, city unit president, BJP, said, “The party has decided not to hold celebrations out of respect for the victim of the Nasarapur minor rape case.Instead of public celebrations on the streets, party workers gathered at the city unit office to discuss the victory.”
Meanwhile, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) also avoided celebration for the same reason.
NCP leader Jay Pawar appealed to voters not to carry victory rallies or do any celebrations.
