PUNE The first paper of Class 10 went smoothly for many Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher secondary education (MSBSHSE) students. Teachers noted that the extra 30 minutes given to students proved fruitful as many students are out of practice for writing. Teachers also noted that the language paper was moderate and many students were able to attempt the whole paper.

On Tuesday, 1,625,311 students attempted language papers of Marathi and other languages across 21,341 exam centres across Maharashtra.
Speaking about the paper, Harishchandra Gaikwad, president, Pune District Principals’ Association said, “The paper was moderate and many students were able to attempt the complete paper. However, 15 to 30 per cent of students may have faced difficulty. The overall feedback has been good by students. As the board has kept the final centre the same as the school, the stress of a new environment has been avoided. This has definitely been beneficial for many students to attempt the paper stress-free.”
According to Gaikwad, there was additional police vigilance at the exam centres.
Medha Sinnarkar, Principal at Laxmanrao Apte Prashala said, “Students were able to attempt the paper smoothly. The language paper overall was good. Students are now hopeful that the upcoming papers are also of moderate level.”
