PUNE Deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis urged all the political leaders in Pune district to keep aside their personal agendas and support the Puradar airport project.

Fadnavis was speaking during an event ‘Shasan Aplya Dari’ (government at your doorstep scheme) at Jejuri on Monday, where Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar and MLAs from the Pune district were present.
Fadnavis said, “There is an urgent need for another airport for Pune district. If the Purandar airport will start, it will become an export hub for agriculture and industry.”
“Central government has given all the required permissions for the Purandar airport. Despite having all the permissions, the work is pending,” he said.
During the event, Pawar raised the issue of water problem in rural Pune. “In Pune district, especially rural areas many face inconvenience due to irregular water supply,” said Pawar.
“We plan to do hundred per cent treatment on sewage water generated in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad municipal corporations. In the next three years, we will be able to implement this project. This will be additional water for Pune,” Fadnavis said.
Meanwhile, Shinde did the groundbreaking for the ₹109 crore works for Jejuri pilgrimage development.
