Unknown armed thieves stole the trees during the early hours of Sunday, according to Chatuhshrungi police. Dhanaji Patil (46) of Bhukan Wasti, Lohegaon, who works as a security supervisor at NCL, has filed a complaint.
The FIR stated that the robbers carrying weapons entered the NCL campus during the night. The miscreants then chopped off five sandalwood trees worth ₹15,000 and decamped with the logs, the complaint stated.
The FIR has been registered at Chatuhshrungi police station under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 379 (Punishment for theft), 427 (Mischief causing damage to the amount of fifty rupees), and further investigation in this regard is going on.
