Pune: Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi for getting into “election mode” during the latter’s visit to Rajasthan. Later in the day, speaking to reporters in Pune on Wednesday on the sidelines of a programme organised by Bharati Vidyapeeth University, Gehlot said that PM Modi has already come into an election mode even as the Rajasthan polls are due after eight months.
“Since he has become the prime minister, he and Amit Shah always remain in poll mode. The elections in Rajasthan are due after eight months, but today he came from Karnataka and immediately got into the election mode,” Gehlot told reporters in Pune.
Gehlot avoided a direct reply to PM’s comments on infighting in the Rajasthan Congress made during his visit to the desert state earlier in the day.
