'Dinesh Karthik started feeling unwell. He also vomited': Bangar’s crucial health update on RCB star after MI win in IPL
Dinesh Karthik didn't keep wickets for RCB in their recently concluded IPL 2023 match against MI at Wankhede Stadium.
After playing a crucial cameo for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the recently concluded encounter against Mumbai Indians (MI) on Tuesday, veteran gloveman Dinesh Karthik felt under the weather when the Indian batter was heading back to the pavilion. Sharing a crucial update on Karthik's health after the IPL 2023 match between RCB and MI, head coach Sanjay Bangar has revealed that Karthik began to feel unwell during Bangalore's innings.

The senior middle-order batter played a sublime knock to help Faf du Plessis and Co. register a challenging total. Speaking to reporters at the post-match press conference, RCB head coach Bangar opened up about Karthik's health and his availability for Bangalore's upcoming match in the IPL 2023. Bangar said that a dehydrated Karthik also vomited on returning to the RCB dugout.

"During the course of the innings, Dinesh Karthik started feeling unwell, he was a bit dehydrated and on his way back he also vomited. There is enough gap for us, maybe three-four days, so with medicine, I think he should be fine. He is an important member for us and he has a big role to play," Bangar told reporters.
Karthik didn't keep wickets for RCB in MI's innings as youngster Anuj Rawat donned the wicketkeeper gloves during the entire contest at the Wankhede Stadium. Karthik smashed an 18-ball 30 for RCB against Mumbai Indians and his entertaining knock guided Bangalore to 199-6 in 20 overs. While senior batters Karthik, Du Plessis (65) and Glenn Maxwell (68) played crucial knocks for the visitors, youngsters Rawat (6) and Mahipal Lomror (1) failed to fire in the high-scoring encounter.
"Our young Indian batters are not progressing at a very good rate. Lomror has been someone who has taken his chances well. But somebody like Anuj Rawat or Shahbaz Ahmed, whenever they have got those opportunities, unfortunately, they have not been able to capitalize on it. You have to be patient with younger players and you can perhaps try to relate it to the example of Rinku Singh," Bangar added.
