India vs Afghanistan Highlights, U19 World Cup Semifinal: India's U19 stars continue to show up and show out! The toporder all help out, with Vaibhav Suryavanshi (68) and Ayush Mhatre (62) setting the table, but guided right throughout by a masterful 115 from the bat of Aaron George. Afghanistan finished on 310/4 after a stellar batting performance, carried forward by twin tons from Faisal Shinozada and Uzairullah Niazai in the middle order. An excellent display from the two batters through the middle overs but particularly at the death gives them something very significant to defend in a high-pressure semifinal.
Earlier, Ayush Mhatre had lost the toss, with Afghanistan captain Mahboob Khan opting to bat first.
Since the humiliation in 2016, India have never been eliminated from the U19 World Cup before the semifinal. In the last five editions of the tournament, India have reached the final at least once and lifted the trophy twice - 2018 and 2022. The Ayush Mahtre-led side will look to keep the streak intact when they take on Zimbabwe in the second semifinal of the tournament at the Harare Sports Club in Harare.
India have scripted an unbeaten run to the semifinal in the 2026 edition of the U19 World Cup. They beat the USA, Bangladesh and New Zealand to finish at the top of the group stage, before beating Zimbabwe and Pakistan in the Super Six round to qualify for the semis.
Afghanistan, on the other hand, suffered just one blip en route to third semifinal qualification in a U19 World Cup edition. They won all three of their group-stage games. But were stunned by Sri Lanka in their first Super Six match, before they recovered to beat Ireland and qualify for the semis.

IND vs AFG U19 World Cup Semi Final Match Live: Pitch report from Harare
IND vs AFG U19 World Cup Semi Final Match Live: Runs expected today, as per Ed Rainsford and Tino Mawoyo in Harare for the broadcasters. It's a hard surface with just a touch of grass which will allow the ball to come on – with the large boundaries and fast outfield, combined with the altitude in Harare that would allow the ball to fly, there should be just enough for the bowlers too.
IND vs AFG U19 World Cup Semi Final Match Live: Approaching toss – changes expected?
IND vs AFG U19 World Cup Semi Final Match Live: India might be considering a couple of changes just to charge some energy through this batting lineup. On the bowling front, it will depend on the surface whether the team opt for the extra seamer or the extra spinner. Should have all that information very soon.
IND vs AFG U19 World Cup Semi Final Match Live: Three consecutive matches won by teams batting first at Harare SC
IND vs AFG U19 World Cup Semi Final Match Live: There have been five matches at this venue so far this tournament. The first two matches saw teams chasing down small totals pretty easily, but in the three following matches, the story was different. Teams batting first racked up the runs, before comfortably bowling out the opposition. Runs on the board in a knockout match are always worth more, and it wouldn't be surprising to see that be the decision again today.
IND vs AFG U19 World Cup Semi Final Match Live: In the first semifinal – captains trade centuries but ENG beat AUS to progress
IND vs AFG U19 World Cup Semi Final Match Live: In yesterday's semifinal, it was a beautifully tactical contest, where both teams had their chances – but it was England who took the right ones. Skipper Thomas Rew scored an important century to push his team to 277. In response, Australia had a good start, but were rocked by the spinners. Their own captain Oliver Peake was the one who acted as the backbone for the chase, but he ran out of partners: he scored his century, but was dismissed right after, the last wicket as England won by 27 runs.
