India vs Australia 3rd ODI Chennai weather report: Rain expected in some areas as weather gods leave fans in suspense

India face Australia in the third and final ODI. With the series level at 1-1, rain is expected in the third ODI in Chennai, leaving fans in suspense.

With the series level at 1-1, India face Australia in the final ODI of the three-match series, on Wednesday, at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Both sides will be aiming to win and grab a series-clinching victory. During this ongoing Australia's Tour of India, the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which took place before this series, was won by the hosts 2-1. Just like the second ODI, rain is expected to play spoilsport once again in the final fixture, leaving everyone in suspense.

With regular captain Rohit Sharma absent for the first ODI, Hardik Pandy took over the leadership role and led India to a five-wicket win in Mumbai. Chasing a target of 189 runs, India raced to 191/5 in 39.5 overs, courtesy of an unbeaten knock of 75 runs off 91 balls by KL Rahul. Meanwhile, Ravindra Jadeja also clobbered an unbeaten knock of 45 runs off 69 balls. Mitchell Starc was in good bowling form for Australia and took a three-wicket haul. Initially, Australia were bowled out for 188 in 35.4 overs, with Mitchell Marsh top-scoring with a knock of 81 runs off 65 balls. Mohammed Shami and Mohammed Siraj were in hot form and took three-wicket hauls for India's bowling department and Ravindra Jadeja bagged two dismissals.

Trailing 0-1, Australia put in a better fight in the second ODI, to win the match by 10 wickets in Visakhapatnam. The Aussies were in hot form and successfully chased down a target of 118 runs with ease, reaching 121/0 in 11 overs. Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head dominated the Indian bowlers with unbeaten half-centuries. Earlier, India were bowled out for 117 in 26 overs, with Virat Kohli registering 31 runs off 35 deliveries. Marsh built on his performance from the previous ODI and took a fifer for Australia. Meanwhile, Sean Abbott bagged three wickets and Nathan Ellis took two.

With the third ODI scheduled for 1:30 PM IST, the weather is expected to be around 33 degrees Celsius. It will be mostly sunny, according to Accuweather, and also very humit, but there could be a thunderstorm in some spots of Chennai. Meanwhile, evening onwards, it is expected to be around 27 degrees Celsius, with clear sky, high humidity and no chances of rain.

Both sides are also expected to experiment with their playing XIs, with the 50-over World Cup in sight. We could see some players, who didn't feature in the first two ODIs, be included in the playing XIs for the final ODI.
