India played UAE U-19 at last year's tournament as well, and it was a comfortable 10-wicket win as Mhatre adn Suryavanshi put together a century partnership in no time. More of the same might be expected if India chase, but there will be a part of the team that wants to get runs on the board and deliver playing time to its batters early on in the tournament. With this being a day game though, the ball will certainly have the most spark and movement in the morning portion of the day. Interesting toss to look forward to.

India have been drawn up against arch-rivals Pakistan, always a key commercial game for the ACC, but start off today against hosts UAE at the ICC Academy in Dubai. This year, the intention will be to improve and get their hands on the trophy.

Equally, here is a chance for several members of this team to try and showcase their talents and their abilities for the IPL scouts who are undoubtedly going to be locked in for this match. Vice-captain Vihaan Malhotra and star all-rounder Kanishk Chouhan are both in the auction list, and as talented members of the team will have intentions of drawing bids from the franchises – but they are not the only ones who know they have a chance to make a case right here, right now.

Opening with Suryavanshi, Mhatre's opening fireworks and ability to go big shouldn't be discounted as well. An equally flair-filled and dynamic batter, Mhatre scored a terrific ton for Mumbai in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, and similar to Suryavanshi, is both the present and the future for a big IPL franchise. With these two at the top, it's a daunting level of talent at India's disposal.

Vaibhav Suryavanshi was also involved in a different Asia Cup tournament, the Rising Stars Cup alongside some older members of the Indian team for the A squad. In that tournament played in Qatar, Suryavanshi scored a landmark 144 against the UAE senior side in a T20 game, and will have intentions of doing something similar in this ODi fixture.
