IPL Auction Highlights: The opening day of the event saw top Indian and overseas players sparking a bidding war and uncapped players fetching big money as well. Ishan Kishan was most expensive buy in the IPL 2022 Auction as Mumbai India broke the bank and secure him for INR 15.25 crore. Deepak Chahar fetched a colossal INR 14 crore by Chennai Super Kings to become the second-most expensive player in the auction. While Prasidh Krishna and Lockie Ferguson bagged INR 10 crores each, going to RR and LSG, respectively, Josh Hazlewood was bought by RCB for INR 7.75 crore. Shardul Thakur also bagged big money as DC bought him for INR 10.75 crore. From the spinners' lot, Kuldeep Yadav was the first one to be picked as DC bought him for INR 2 cr. They went to Punjab Kings and RR, respectively. The uncapped categories witnessed some massive bids, with SRH shelling out 6.5 cr for Abhishek Sharma and 8.75 crore for Rahul Tripathi. Gujarat Titans then spent INR 9 crore for Rahul Tewatia. Earlier, Shreyas also fetched a staggering deal of 12 crore from Kolkata Knight Riders. The franchise also got back their Australian pacer Pat Cummins for 7.25 crore. Ashwin (5 cr) headed to Rajasthan Royals while Shikhar Dhawan (8.25 cr) was snapped up by Punjab Kings.
