James Anderson congratulated by cricketing fraternity for 500 Test wickets
James Anderson became the first English bowler to take 500 wickets in Test matches, leading former cricketers and experts to come together to wish him on his historic achievement.cricket Updated: Sep 09, 2017 12:22 IST
James Anderson on Friday created history by becoming only the third fast bowler ever and sixth overall to take 500 or more Test wickets.
When Anderson got through the defence of West Indies batsman Kraigg Brathwaite on the second day of the ongoing Lord’s Test, he joined the likes of former Caribbean pacer Courtney Walsh and Australia’s Glenn McGrath among the fast bowlers who have taken 500 wickets and more. (ENG v WI Day 2 report)
Anderson is the only England bowler to have touched this mark, and the English cricket fans are now hopeful that one of the best seamers in the history of the sport will at least try and go past Glen McGrath’s tally of 563 Test wickets.
Former cricketers and experts came together to wish Anderson on his historic feat.
