In a recent interview, Kareena Kapoor, who is celebrating her 37th birthday on Thursday, revealed her liking for the swashbuckling Indian middle-order batsman.

“I love the way Virat plays. He is my favourite,” Kareena said, before going on to compare Kohli with the legendary Sachin Tendulkar. “Isn’t he already the next Sachin Tendulkar? After all, he’s the reason why we are winning so many matches in succession,” Kareena was quoted as saying by India.com.

Virat Kohli, a veteran of 60 Tests, 195 ODIs and 50 T20Is has already become the heartthrob of the nation with his explosive batting style and the manner in which he scores centuries at will.

Although he’s a long way behind Sachin Tendulkar, who has a century of centuries across formats, but looking at the pace at which Kohli has raced on to 47 (30 in ODIs and 17 in Tests), pundits believe, he might just eclipse that mark.

Recently, actress Disha Patani had revealed that she wanted to go on a date with Virat Kohli.

Kareena’s love for cricket isn’t new and she and her actor-husband Saif Ali Khan had even planned to bid for an Indian Premier League (IPL) team a couple of years back. Kareena is also the daughter-in-law of former Indian captain Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi who led India in 40 of the 46 Tests he would go on to play.

Kareena had recently given birth to a baby boy and the actress claimed that she wanted him to grow up and become a cricketer just like the Nawab of Pataudi!
