Karun Nair's emotional 'give me one more chance' tweet goes viral ahead of India vs Bangladesh Test series

Karun Nair posted an emotional post on Twitter, which went viral ahead of India vs Bangladesh Test series.

Having made his Test debut in November 2016 vs England at Mohali, Karun Nair registered his maiden Test century in the final match of the series at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, managing to slam an unbeaten knock of 303 runs. With the feat, Nair also became the quickest batter to hit a maiden triple ton in Test cricket history in terms of matches played. The hosts won the match by an innings and 75 runs with Nair named as the player of the match, and it put him under the spotlight. But that proved to be his only spectacular, featuring in his last Test in March 2017 and final ODI in June 2016.

Taking to Twitter, the RR player pleaded to the cricket fraternity to give him one more chance. "Dear cricket, give me one more chance", he said.

Reacting to the tweet, one fan said, "Karun bhai, Stay strong .. Believe in yourself.. u’ll surely be back on ground!"

Another fan wrote, "Wish you all the best for the upcoming Ranaji Season champ!"

"You have to perform for that in domestic consistently. Guy like Pritvhi isn’t getting chances, forget about you mate. Not saying this in a negative way but work thrice as hard", another fan said.

Another fan tweeted, "The only 2nd Indian player in the history of cricket who scored triple century in test, avg 62+, but he got dropped from Indian team just after 6 matches, why?? Some have been playing Test cricket consistently for the last 3 years with an avg of 27. Why this discrimination?"

The 31-year-old last featured in the Maharaja T20 Trophy, representing Mysuru Warriors. In 12 games, Nair slammed 257 runs at an average of 23.36 and a strike-rate of 146.02. He also bagged a half-century with a high score of 91* against the Hubli Tigers in Mysore.
