The second ODI encounter between England and West Indies was abandoned due to heavy rain in Trent Bridge. As a result, England continue to lead the five-match series 1-0. Jonny Bairstow was the hero for the hosts in the first ODI where he scored a century to guide his team to victory. England selected an unchanged team for Thursday’s game while for West Indies, Chris Gayle was missing with injury and was replaced at the top of the order by Kyle Hope.
