PBKS vs KKR Highlights, IPL 2023: Punjab Kings beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 7 runs as per DLS method

Sunil Narine strikes as Sikandar Raza falls for 16 (13). The batter tries to slog it but ends up mistiming his shot. The spin too didn't help him as the ball is caught by Nitish Rana catches it inside the 30-yard circle.

Varun Chakaravarthy comes to bowl his final over and does a decent job until the second last delivery. 

Sam Curran connects the final ball for a gigantic six as 11 runs come off the over.

Meanwhile, Chakravarthy concedes 26 runs and scalps a wicket in his four-over quota.

Shardul Thakur pitches it up, wide off the off stump and Sikandar Raza hits it over the covers for a SIX. 

10 runs come off the over as PBKS move to 153/4 (16 overs)

Varun Chakaravarthy bowls a tight over as he concedes one single and removes Shikhar Dhawan in the same. He cleans up the Punjab skipper for 40 (29) as PBKS move to 143/4 in 15 overs.

Punjab Kings lose two wickets in quick succession as Tim Southee removes Jitesh Sharma for 21 (11). Slower delivery does the trick as Jitesh tries to slog over midwicket but ends up handing a simple catch to Umesh Yadav at short third man. 

Sikandar Raza is the new batter in and he starts off with a boundary. PBKS: 142/3 (14 overs)

Jitesh Sharma continues his charge as he hits Umesh Yadav for a boundary. Eight runs come from his final over as the pacer concedes 27 runs and picks one wicket in his full quota. PBKS: 129/2 (13 overs)

Sunil Narine is back into the attack and his hit for a six by wicketkeeper-batter Jitesh Sharma for a six. 12 runs come off his over. PBKS 121-2 (12 overs)

Umesh Yadav comes into the attack and he is hit for a boundary by Dhawan in the first ball.

The experienced pacer concedes a single and a couple of doubles, before Bhanuka Rajapaksa tries to clear the long-on fence. He certainly gets the elevation but falls short by few meteres from clearing the fence. The ball is caught by Rinku Singh near the fence.

Varun Chakaravarthy comes to the attack and Shikhar Dhawan welcomes him with a boundary. The bowler recovers well and concedes five singles in the next five balls as nine runs come off the over. 

PBKS reach 100/1 at the halfway stage.

Shardul Thakur is hit for a four by Rajapaksa, who gently guides a ball wide off the off stump past the wicketkeeper for a four. 

Thakur bowls a no-ball against Dhawan, who hits it towards the third-man region for a one bounce four towards the third-man region.

Sunil Narine reintroduced in the attack. He is hit for a boundary by Rajapaksa, which could have been saved by Varun Chakravarthy at short fine leg. 

10 runs come off the over. The pair have also stitched a 50-plus stand. PBKS: 79/1 (8 overs)

Shardul Thakur joins the attack and he too is not spared by Bhanuka Rajapaksa, who hits the Indian seamer for a boundary and a six, which reminded the on-air commentators of Sri Lanka legend Sanath Jayasuriya. 

13 runs come off the over as PBKS reach 69/1 after 7 overs.

Varun Chakaravarthy comes to bowl the final over and does a decent job. He concedes a couple of singles in the first five balls before being hit for a four by Dhawan in the final delivery. PBKS accumulate 56/1 from the powerplay.

Sunil Narine is introduced in the attack and after bowling a couple of dots, Bhanuka Rajpaksa charges down the ground and hits him for a one bounce four towards the long-off region. He then whacks him for another boundary, this time towards the extra cover region. 

Rajpaksa finishes the over with a six. Once again steps down the track and hits it over the bowler's head for a maximum. PBKS: 50/1 (5 overs)

Shikhar Dhawan slaps Tim Southee for consecutive fours before passing the strike to Bhanuka Rajapaksa in the third ball. He gets off the mark by nudging the ball on the leg side and runs a double. 

12 runs come off the over. PBKS: 36/1 (4 overs)

A tight over by Umesh Yadav as just one single come off it. PBKS: 24/1 (3 overs)

An explosive start for Punjab Kings as Prabhsimran hits Tim Southee for consecutive boundaries, following which the Kiwi quick bowls two dots.

The fifth ball is hit for a six. This time Southee bangs it short and Prabhsimran pulls it over the mid-wicket fence.

However, Prabhsimran's stay in the middle comes to an end in the final ball. He walks down the crease and the ball was going wide off the leg stump. Prabhsimran tries to guide it past the keeper but ends up giving him a simple catch. He falls after an explosive 12-ball 23. PBKS: 23/1 (2 overs)

Yadav pitches it full, on the pads of Prabhsimran, who whacks it for a six over the square leg fence. First six of the match.
