Denish Das

Denish Paramananda Das, born on May 17, 2002, in Guwahati, Assam, is an emerging Indian domestic cricketer who represents Assam as a reliable right-handed middle-order batter. Known for his solid cricketing technique, and ability to anchor an innings under pressure, he quickly rose through the age-group structures to become a cornerstone of Assam's senior cricket setup.

His entry into professional senior cricket came during the 2020-21 domestic season. He made his Twenty20 debut for Assam in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy in January 2021, followed shortly by his List A debut in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in February 2021. Displaying strong temperament across white-ball formats, he steadily cemented his spot in the middle order.

Denish expanded his capabilities into red-ball cricket when he made his first-class debut against Vidarbha in Rohtak during the 2022-23 Ranji Trophy season. His leadership potential and maturity on the field were recognized when he was appointed captain of the Assam Ranji Trophy team. One of the defining highlights of his career arrived in November 2024, when he played a magnificent captain's knock, scoring his maiden first-class century against a strong Tamil Nadu side at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati to secure a vital first-innings lead for his team.

His trajectory has gained notable momentum through several major selections and high-profile milestones. In July 2026, he made headlines as the marquee and costliest pick at the inaugural Assam Premier League (APL) auction, where he was signed by the Barpeta Braves.

Shortly after, the Assam Cricket Association announced his selection to the East Zone squad for the 2026-27 Duleep Trophy. Reinforcing his standing as a central figure in state cricket, the Assam Cricket Association named Denish as the captain of the 15-member senior men's team for the opening matches of the 2026-27 Ranji Trophy campaign.
