Ibrahim Takahashi

Ibrahim Takahashi is a prominent Japanese international cricketer who plays as a batting all-rounder for the Japan National Cricket Team. Born on November 28, 1998, Takahashi has become a cornerstone of Japan's emerging cricket structure, with aggressive lower-order batting and handy right-arm off-spin bowling.

Takahashi made his international debut for Japan on October 9, 2022, in a T20I match against Indonesia at the Sano International Cricket Ground. Since then, he has consistently featured across multi-nation regional tournaments, such as the ICC Men's T20 World Cup East Asia-Pacific Qualifiers and the Asian Games.

Known for his ability to hit power shots and clear boundaries cleanly, Takahashi plays a vital dynamic role finishing innings with a strike rate hovering around 130 in T20Is. He scored his maiden T20I half-century in a blazing knock against Bhutan. With the ball, his disciplined off-spin acts as a strategic defensive option, maintaining an exceptional and highly economical run rate of under 6 runs per over.

Demonstrating his growing pedigree on the associate cricket circuit, Takahashi was selected to train and interact alongside elite global stars like Angelo Mathews and Wanindu Hasaranga with the Kandy Falcons franchise in the Lanka Premier League (LPL). This exposure significantly enhanced his spin variations and high-performance skills, turning him into a crucial asset for Japan's future qualifying campaigns.
