Sibsankar Arabinda Roy (born October 10, 1990) is an experienced Indian domestic cricketer who has been a bedrock of the Assam cricket team for nearly two decades. A gritty left-handed batter and occasional right-arm off-break bowler, Roy's journey reflects the quintessential career of a domestic stalwart who has continuously anchored his side through various generational transitions.
Roy’s tryst with cricket began early. Growing up in Guwahati, he rose through Assam's youth setup, making his mark as an eleven-year-old in the U-14 national tournaments. His progression culminated in a senior first-class debut during the 2008/09 Ranji Trophy against Tripura. Over the years, he established himself as a pillar in Assam’s middle order, accumulating thousands of runs and earning broader recognition through appearances for East Zone in the Deodhar Trophy.
Beyond multi-day cricket, Roy adapted his game seamlessly to white-ball formats, becoming a vital presence in Assam's Vijay Hazare Trophy (List A) and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (T20) campaigns. Entering the 2026 domestic blocks, Roy continued to lend invaluable senior composure and stability to the Assam dressing room, serving as a vital bridge between experienced leadership and the state's emerging young talent.
