Sachin Tendulkar lauds Virat Kohli after historic double ton against Bangladesh
Sachin Tendulkar paid a glowing tribute to Virat Kohli after the India cricket team skipper scored his fourth Test century during the one-off match against Bangladesh in Hyderabad on Friday. (LIVE BLOG | SCORECARD)
Virat Kohli became the first player to score double hundred in four successive series (200 against West Indies in Antigua, then he followed it up with 211 against New Zealand in Indore, 235 against England in Mumbai before 204 against Bangladesh), surpassing legends like Don Bradman and Rahul Dravid who had done it in three consecutive series.
The master blaster congratulated Kohli after his century on Twitter and wished that the “sweet spot” on his bat remains forever. “The sweet spot on your bat speaks about the awesome form you are in, don’t need scoreboards. May god always keep your bat like that,” Tendulkar tweeted.
Virender Sehwag also congratulated the Team India captain on his brilliant achievement and the former India opener tweeted a picture of Kohli with the caption: “SAABAAS”.
Virat Kohli is tipped to be the front runner to break the records set by Tendulkar and with the way he is going about his business, there seems to no looking back for the stylish right-handed Delhi batsman. It can also be recalled that Tendulkar had once singled out Kohli and Rohit Sharma to break his records.
