Netherlands kicked-off their campaign with a three-wicket win over UAE. Batting first, Netherlands managed to restrict UAE for 111/8 in 20 overs. In response, everything was going well for the Dutch before Junaid Siddique brought UAE back into the contest with his clinical bowling. He scalped three wickets in his four overs and conceded just 24 runs. Netherlands eventually completed the 112 run-chase with one ball to spare. Earlier in the day Namibia defeated Asian Champions Sri Lanka by 55 runs.
